Differences in Bell Boots?

I've been looking for a nice sturdy pair of bell boots to help with overreaching when I am working ihorse, but there are so many types and they all seem to vary alot. From gelly sparkly ones to thick neoprene to generic plastic. Most people seem to use the cheap plastic ones, but I'm wondering if the neoprene wouldn't be a better choice?

I've always been a fan of the Professional's Choice SMB brand for leg support. They are a nice thick neoprene and hold up to washing and wearing in mud if need be quite well. They are a bit more costly, but we've had some of ours for years without issue.

I have used rubber bell boots in the past when my horse had problems with throwing shoes. He seemed to be very talented at getting his shoes off. I had him checked by a vet to make sure there were no physical issues but the vet said he appeared to be fine. He just didn't like wearing shoes. I had never seen a horse so obsessed with his shoes.

Maybe it was less of not liking shoes than the farrier needing to do a better job? I've known some horses that just weren't built to keep shoes on. Always walking on their own feet and requiring extra farrier visits if you don't do it yourself. But sometimes your farrier is just silly and a master farrier could figure out how to put them on and keep them on.

I've never used bell boots much, but the SMBs are nice for other things so I imagine they would do well.
