Cooked Food

I'd never thought about this before until, believe it or not, I was watching the food channel. There is a chef that I don't recognise cooking something with SO much greens in it-it made me think at that point that my horse would love that.

So have you ever shared your cooking with your equine pal?

Your post made me laugh, though. It never crossed my mind to wonder if horses would like their greens cooked but now that you mention it, I bet green salads would seem a treat.

I have known some that bake for their horses things like treats, but never just cook them regular food. That would be interesting to see someone cooking a stew or something though.

LOL! I've given my horses "salads" of sorts, with greens and carrots and apples, but not cut up and prepared like I would like it. I've never given my horse cooked food, I don't think their digestion is set up for cooked food.

I'm not sure if horses are attracted by the color but I guess that they are more interested on what their noses tell them. Cupcakes are the treats that I give my horse.

Thanks for the suggestion of making a salad, I might do it for a variation of my horse treats.

Well I'm glad that it amused you. The sleep deprived mind can have some VERY odd thoughts indeed!

Anyway, I wasn't thinking along the lines of cooking every for them. Simply that there are some things that I make (and that which was on the show) that I think my horse would love-based on other things they like.

That reminds me of those salads they have in the fancy restaurants. The ones that look like they were picked from your backyard. I bet a horse would love those. I would think though, that a cooked food would not be appetizing to a horse. They are wired to eat what's right for them, and like it.
