clothing?

What's your general riding attire look like? I've always worn jeans and a shirt that is appropriate for the weather, and tennis shoes, because that's what I normally wear. how about you?

I do jeans and t-shirts. I also have a cowboy hat for sun protection. I wear a low cut boot for riding. Tennis shoes can be dangerous as your foot can slide through the stirrup. The proper footwear is heeled boots or shoes. Not meaning fancy high heels but a shoe or boot with a slightly raised heel to catch the stirrup.

I've done all sorts of different types of riding gear. However the general idea consists of long pants, appropriate shoes, and a t-shirt or long sleeves depending. Also always a safety helmet. I normally find jeans uncomfortable for English riding though unless I've got chaps on over them.

Jeans, shirt, boots and a hat to keep the sun off my face and neck. If it's a very sunny day I always apply sunscreen on my arms and face. I have had a couple of really bad sunburns in my younger years because I skipped the sunscreen.

Good information to know

I was wondering if I would have to invest in special clothing if I managed to find a way to learn to ride. It's good to know I'll only have to pick up some boots. Jeans and t-shirts I have plenty of.

I didn't know I shouldn't wear tennis shoes. I really haven't ridden much but that has been what I've had on my feet nearly every time. I wear jeans and a regular shirt like I normally wear every day.

I just wear my usual attire of Jeans,T-shirt,boots, and maybe the occasional Cowboy hat for some laughs.

All of that is very comfortable for me when I am riding or when i'm not, and I have never felt much of a need to mess with what works for me.

I don't like jeans-they seem to rub the inside of my leg too much. So I wear stretchy slacks, lycra pants basically but not tight, with a t-shirt and boots.

yeah, I forgot the helmet.. I always wear that!

I didn't know about the shoes! No one has ever mentioned that to me, would've been helpful! I guess I'll wear my Dr Marten's next time!

More than anything a jeans tee shirt type deal. If its a little chilly add a hoodie and thats about all. As far as shows I just use teenies since I don't race or anything.
