Clean Brushes

I was told that brushed should be cleaned on a regular basis. Has anybody do this? I was told you should soak them in a clorox and water solution. It can cut down on passing parasites from horse to horse.

I have a brush for each horse. The brush has their name on it and I only use that brush. Yes, I do wash them about once a month. I had a horse with a skin problem and so I got into the habit of taking care of the brushes.

I normally wash mine with either shampoo or dish soap every couple months when I notice the dirt building up in the bristles. You should clean all brushes whether your horses or your own when they get dirty. I know they make some fancy brush cleaners, but regular soap normally does just as well. Spray them off with a hose with a pressure nozzle, soap, and rinse again and let dry flat.
