Can you rent a horse trailer?

I don't have a horse trailer and probably will never need one as I don't participate in events or shows. If for some reason in the future, I need to move my horses, are there places where you can rent a horse trailer? I don't want to purchase one but I'm thinking I may need one for an emergency or something that I haven't foreseen.

You could check your local farm supply store. Or just ask a farmer if you could borrow one. I find that many are accomodating to other horse owners. The feed store may also know of one that you could use if needed.

I've never really heard of renting a horse trailer, but there are plenty of people who will move your horse for you in such an event. I normally make nice with the closest neighbor with a trailer when I don't have one. You may be able to borrow their trailer in an emergency or share one.

Yes, you can rent a horse trailer depending on where you live. A friend of mine had to do it once. She just checked her area's yellow pages to find a place.
Of course, it is cheaper to just borrow one as others have suggested.

We had to once. We called our vet to see if they new of anyone and they gave us a few names. We were usually borrowers when we were less frequent trailer users. Now we have our own though.
