What are the needed equipment in maintaining your horses easier?

What are the things that a horse owner SHOULD have in maintaining a horse?

What should be the space of the stable and does it need cleaning everyday?

Good questions, I'm wondering the same things. I'm hoping someone will answer soon. Also what of the equipment is necessary and what is just helpful or easier to have?

I belief, there is way too much offered .
A short bristle (hard) brush for clumps of dirt (not for the hoofs!!!), a "Dandy" brush for all purpose, a soft, a very good silky bristle brush for final touch up and face (the most expensive item in my box), a rubber or metal curry comb, a comb for the mane, hoof pick, soft rag, maybe hoof hardener for the edge which touches the ground, scissors.
I never ever use hoof oil, dressing or conditioner and I never comb the tail.

The space of a stable depends on your wishes to some degree. A horse needs enough room to safely turn and lay down in if it is to be stabled there overnight. However if your horse is to be left out in a pasture or field overnight and only brought in a "standing stall" which is more of a holding stall between uses is fine. It would be large enough for the horse to stand and eat and drink, with some room to either side, but probably not enough to turn comfortably. Any smaller turn-out field or pasture is periodically picked of droppings to keep the space clean. We used to do ours twice a year; once after the snow finally went away, and again at the end of the summer.

Stalls need to be cleaned daily and new shavings, newspaper or straw put in to cover the floor. This is normally done with an assortment of shovels, rakes and stall fork things. You also normally need a place to keep hay and whatever you are using in the stalls.

Buckets are usually used to provide water and should be scrubbed and refilled daily. Buckets or built-in wood bins are used for feeding grain, and hay can be left on the ground after cleaning he stall or in metal hay holders that are attached to the walls or hay nets. Different people like different things and its probably a matter of what is easiest and best for you and your horse.
