Designed as a step by step guide to the fundamentals of riding and horsemanship. Each step is a book and companion DVD. Priced at 19.95 each for AQHA members, 24.95 each for non-members. Not sure how good they are but the AQHA doesn't normally back anything really bad. It would make a nice gift if nothing else.

I read that book when I was just starting out. It's very informational. It's a good way to learn manny of the basics, especially before the reader acquires a horse.
