I read that most horses will live for 15-20 years, if this is the case is there anything out there to suggest if a horse is lonely it wont live as long (as maybe thoses with companions to keep them company)?

A horse that is not bonded to a companion would not suffer unduly without one. A horse that has bonded with another pasture mate or a herd might suffer from depression and separation anxiety if singled out, but I'm not sure it would shorten their lifespan since the horse should be helped before that point.
