A Gift

Okay, while I am still learning some new things about horses it seems every day, I am wanting some help from others than may know better than myself. We tend to visit (my husbands) Auntie a great deal at least twice a month since we live so close and its the only family of his in this state.

She has a mini and I still think its a Shetland but not sure. The horse even though they live in farm country is not a work horse, but its not really a riding all the time horse either. I want to get the horse a gift, but no idea what to get, suggestions please? I was thinking of maybe a good blanket since its still a bit chilly outside that we can all use, but unsure.

The blanket sounds like a good idea or horse boots. Depends on what is there already as you could also get some nice tack.

I don't think the horse would need the boots but I will ask. She doesnt actually ride this horse its all as a pet not a work horse either. I think that is why I am so stuck in finding something that I know will be useful. I am almost at the point to just buy feed and attach a note.

A nice blanket would be a good gift, new halters are always fun too. Or maybe fleece covers for a halter? Hoof picks or brushes are useful if not as much fun. You can't go wrong with a sack or treats or carrots or apples either.

If I had the money I would just get another horse and keep it there and have the note say "I think your horse needed a friend, so I bought her one". I am sure the Aunt would love that! Thanks for the suggestions, I am going to get the gifts in the next week or two since we will be horse sitting for awhile during the time they are out of town so when they come back they can see how much fun we all had!
