I don't have a horse but my aunts is always being serenaded by her husband with classic rock. The horse comes and goes as she pleased and ends up visiting the uncle in his shop when he is working on a car or a boat and is now named shop-horse, and seems to be in a tad more perky mood with the music.
Maybe we are onto something here!
