I had to smile when I saw this thread listed. When I was a girl my grandmother kept old horses. She started by taking one, and found it was a labor of love and kept taking more. She did boarding, so she wasn't responsible for the vet bills, which can be hefty for an old horse. I'm sure there are more people like her!
