I volunteered alot over the years, as did my mom (a non-horse person, lol). Many of these organizations have different things you can help with based on your knowledge and comfort level. You could help with the horses, clean tack, or make phone calls and update paperwork depending on your abilities. It all needs done at the end of the day and you can progress from one task to the next as you get used to the horses and learn how to do things. A willing nature is the most important thing for a volunteer to have.
